I’m 23 and finishing my last semester of college, and I feel pulled in a few directions. Part of me wants a stable job quickly (student loans, helping my family), part of me wonders if I’m supposed to do something more “service-oriented,” and another part of me just feels anxious that I’ll pick wrong and disappoint God.
I pray, but honestly I’m not sure what I’m listening for. I’ve heard people say “follow your passions” and others say “choose what provides,” but as a young Catholic I want to make decisions that are faithful, not just trendy.
How should young Catholics approach career decisions in a way that’s truly Catholic—like with discernment, virtue, and real-life responsibilities? Practical steps would help (talking to a priest? spiritual director? making a plan?), and I’d also love to hear how you all handled fear, pressure, or uncertainty.
