I’ve been wrestling with this question for a while: how often should Catholics receive Holy Communion?
I was raised Catholic but I’m coming back more seriously now. I go to Sunday Mass most weeks, and sometimes a weekday Mass when my schedule allows. Part of me wants to receive every time, because I genuinely love the Eucharist and feel closer to Jesus afterward. But another part of me worries I’m doing it “too casually,” or that I should only receive when I feel extra holy. I also hear different advice: some people say “every Mass if you’re in a state of grace,” others say it’s better to receive less often so it stays reverent.
I’m not trying to start a fight—just looking for solid Catholic guidance. Is there a recommended frequency (daily, weekly, only on Sundays)? What about when you’re stressed, distracted, or not feeling very devout? And how should confession fit into the picture?
