I’m a practicing Catholic trying to be more intentional about sharing my faith online, but I’m not sure what “evangelization” should look like on social media without being cringe or starting arguments.
I’m on Instagram and TikTok mostly, and I also have a small group chat with friends from work and a few family members. Sometimes I see amazing Catholic content that draws me in, but I also see comment sections turning toxic fast. I don’t want to dunk on people or treat the faith like a “gotcha,” but I also don’t want to hide my beliefs.
Do you have practical ideas for how Catholics can use social media for evangelization in a way that’s faithful to the Church and also respectful? What kinds of posts actually help people come closer to Christ? And how do you deal with negativity, trolling, or just the temptation to spend too much time online?
I’d love tips from people who’ve tried it—small accounts included. I’m not aiming to be an influencer; I just want to be a better witness where I already am.
