Hi everyone. I’m Catholic and I want to believe with my whole heart, but lately I’ve been hit with doubts that feel louder than my prayers. Some days I’m fine, and other days I spiral—like, “What if I’m just talking to myself?” or “Why does God feel far away when I’m trying?”
A few things have changed recently: I started a new job with long hours, I’ve been missing weekday Mass, and my prayer has gotten rushed. I still go to Sunday Mass, but I sometimes feel distracted and almost embarrassed that I’m not feeling what I used to. I’ve also been reading random stuff online that questions Christianity, and it gets in my head.
I’m not trying to argue or be dramatic—I genuinely want to be faithful. I just need help figuring out what to do when doubts show up. Is doubt a sin? How do I rebuild trust in God without pretending I’m not struggling?
If anyone has practical steps (prayer routines, saints, Scripture passages, devotion to Mary, anything) I’d really appreciate it.
