I really want to be more present at Mass, but my mind wanders constantly. Sometimes it’s random stuff (work, errands), sometimes it’s worries, and sometimes I just “zone out” during the readings or the homily. I’m not trying to be disrespectful—it's like I sit down with good intentions and then five minutes later I realize I haven’t listened to anything.
For context: I usually go to Sunday Mass and sometimes a weekday Mass if my schedule allows. I don’t have little kids with me, so it’s not that kind of distraction, but I do feel restless and I check the time more than I want to admit. I also feel guilty afterward, like I “did Mass wrong.”
Do you have any practical ways to stay focused during Mass and not spiral into guilt when you get distracted?
