My husband and I are both Catholic and we *want* to pray together, but we keep struggling to make it feel natural. We’ll start strong for a week, then life gets busy, or one of us is tired, or we end up debating instead of praying.
We’re married 3 years, no kids yet, both working full time. We go to Mass on Sundays and sometimes a weekday. I grew up praying the Rosary with my family; he didn’t. When I suggest the Rosary he feels overwhelmed. When he suggests “just talk to God,” I get distracted and wonder if we’re doing it “right.”
What are concrete, Catholic ways to pray as a couple that actually last? How long should it be? Do we pray out loud? What do we do when we’re not in the same mood or one of us is spiritually dry? I’d love ideas that build unity and don’t turn into another thing on our to-do list.
